Feline rescuers help out with ‘fixing’ charges

Annual event eases the financial hit for pet owners with financial challenges

The Victoria Cat Rescue Corps is hosting its annual spaying and neutering event for cat owners looking to reduce the chance of unwanted animals.

The campaign begins Feb. 16 and runs for a limited time. The organization is offering to pay the veterinary cost of spaying females and neutering male cats belonging to low-income pet owners. Stray and feral cats are accepted for the program as well.

Last year’s event saw nearly 300 pet owners helped out with the cost of having their animals fixed.
