Family fishing weekend kicks off tomorrow

Local club offers special Saturday fishing event for mark the occasion

Dust off that rod and reel, June 17 to 19 is B.C.’s 17th annual family fishing weekend.

In honour of that, the Victoria Fish and Game Club is offering a special family fishing day tomorrow (June 18) from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

To celebrate Father’s Day, this Sunday, the provincial government is also offering licence-free freshwater fishing in hopes of getting more residents out to enjoy one of B.C.’s most popular recreation activities.
