Elizabeth May to lead food sustainability discussion in Metchosin

The Green Party leader's talk is part of an interactive speaker series taking place this month at Metchosin's St. Mary's Church.

Federal Green Party leader Elizabeth May will lead the next session in an interactive speaker series being hosted at Metchosin's St. Mary's Church, 4125 Metchosin Rd.

On Mar. 15, May will speak about food security and sustainability. The event is free and all are welcome.

The sessions, taking place each Wednesday at 7 p.m., have already featured Coun. Andy MacKinnon and Dr. Geoff Strong. Subsequent talks include those led by Rev. Wally Eamer (Mar. 22), Rev. Nancy Ford (Mar. 29) and Rev. Herbert O'Driscol (April 5).

Also taking place this month in Metchosin:

Join Rockland Moran and Vince Pollitt (Mar. 10, 7 p.m.) for a house concert featuring jazz and blues on the guitar and trumpet at the Metchosin Community House, 4430 Happy Valley Rd. A donation of $7 to 10 is suggested.

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day (Mar. 17, 7 p.m.) at the Metchosin Golf Course with Bijoux du Bayou, a continuation of the Metchosin Band Wagon series. The restaurant and bar open at 5:30 p.m. at 4100 Metchosin Rd. A donation of $5 for the musicians is requested.
