Non-profits and community organizations will soon have access to a new space in View Royal.

Elements Casino Victoria is launching a new community program – Elements of Community – which will focus on supporting charities and community organizations on the West Shore as well as Sooke and Esquimalt.

As part of the initiative, Elements Casino is offering its multi-use Platinum Room, free of charge, to non-profits and community organizations to host events and other activities.

The room will be available for 50 days during the year.

“As an active community participant we wanted to create a positive community experience for organizations that are in need of space and resources. We will be able to accommodate large or small groups in a variety of configurations and provide support that would not have been there otherwise,” said Raj Mutti, Great Canadian Gaming Corp. operations west vice president.

Elements Casino is hosting its grand opening celebration on May 5 to showcase the multi-million dollar renovation that is close to being completed. That renovation includes a new 70,000 square foot gaming floor with approximately 800 slot machines, up to 26 table games and a variety of new dining options.

But the highlight of the evening will be a performance by Tom Cochrane in the Platinum Room.

Interested organizations can complete an application online at elementscasinovictoria.com/community.
