Children have a unique way of seeing the world and that’s exactly what’s on display at the Coast Collective Art Centre in Colwood.

Coast Collective, 103-318 Wale Rd., is hosting its annual Earth Day Children’s Art Show, which started Wednesday and runs until April 29. A meet the artists reception is scheduled for Saturday, April 21 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Explore forests through the eyes of local children with their interpretation of the cycle of life, where everything is connected from the tiniest of bugs to the largest trees.

Children under the age of 12 from across the south Island submitted pieces for this show in a variety of mediums from paint to graphite, clay, mixed media, textiles, and more.

Earth Day is this Sunday, April 22. It was first celebrated in 1970 and events now take place around the world.

This local event is operated by the Society for Arts on the south Island and is sponsored by the West Shore Arts Council.

The art centre is open from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
