Royal Roads University takes on new board member

Retired vice admiral joins university's board of governors

The former vice chief of the Canadian Armed Forces is joining Royal Roads University.

Retired Vice-Admiral Bruce Donaldson joins the university’s board of governors following a 35-year career in the military where he helped manage a more than $20-billion Defence Services Programme and long-range strategic and capability planning for the CAF.

“Royal Roads is proud of it’s military heritage and the legacy of 55 years as a military college with over 3,000 ex cadet alumni. I am delighted to welcome Vice-Admiral Bruce Donaldson to the board,” said university president and vice-chancellor Allan Cahoon. “He is a distinguished Canadian leader who I look forward to working with as Royal Roads continues to distinguish itself as Canada’s most innovative, demand-base post secondary institution.”

Donaldson joins for a three-year term on the board of governors effective April 16, 2016.
