B.C. municipalities will recognize the work of its chambers and boards of trade during Chamber Week, Feb. 20 to 24.

The WestShore Chamber of Commerce is a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization that exists to promote business and economic growth, advocate on behalf of local business and participate in enriching the community. While for the most part, a Chamber of Commerce would represent one city or geographic area, the WestShore Chamber is unique as it serves the five municipalities of  Colwood, Highlands, Langford, Metchosin and View Royal. The Gazette acknowledges the tireless effort of our Chamber in working with all levels of business on the West Shore.

West Shore Parks and Recreation is hosting a Pro-D Day skate and swim this Friday, Feb. 24. The skate will be in the Juan de Fuca Arena from 1 until 2:30 p.m. and the swim goes from 3:30 until 5 p.m. in the JDF pool.

The 2017 Bear Mountain Bike Festival, presented by McDonalds, promises to be one of the most anticipated and exciting events on Vancouver Island this year. Offering the thrill of X-Country and Enduro riding, plus activities for cycling enthusiasts of all ages and abilities, the event will take place March 4 and 5. On March 11 and 12 at the JDF arena, the Juan de Fuca Skating Club presents the Skating in Colour Ice Show, taking place at 2 and 7 p.m. on the Saturday and 1 p.m. on the Sunday. This two-hour show is for all ages with more than 160 cast and members from around the world, this is one of B.C.s largest and best amateur ice shows.
