Between the numerous disruptions to supply chains, the COVID-19 pandemic, and a few other curve balls thrown at local businesses, it’s now more important than ever to support local.

Money spent in the community stays in the community. It feeds local families, keeps roofs over heads and comes back to the community through various initiatives.

With that in mind, as we head into the holiday season, we’ll be introducing – or reintroducing – our readers to some of the West Shore businesses that help make this community great. Watch for these profiles each week.

Getting the word out in pictures – RevolVR Reality Solutions

RevolVR Virtual Reality Solutions takes a broad approach to bringing clients to your business.

While most virtual tour companies focus on real estate, RevolVR Reality offers their services to all kinds of local businesses.

“We’re passionate about helping real-world businesses transition to the virtual world and Metaverse,” said company owner Bartosz Bos.

About 40 per cent of people will visit a business that has photos or a street view on its Google profile, he noted, and about 30 per cent of those people will make a purchase.

RevolVR Virtual Reality Solutions currently offers Google Street View Tour Photography packages starting at $99 for qualifying businesses on the West Shore.

That’s especially helpful for new businesses that are keen on making a connection with their community, Bos said.

A passion for exploring different technologies was the driving force in his decision to launch RevolVR Virtual Reality Solutions.

Bos was happy to share his thoughts on one of the rewards in store for people considering starting out on their own.

“Starting and running your own business is far more rewarding than working for someone else.”

Reducing expenses while improving quality of life - OnPoint Employee Benefits

Helping business owners save money and improve benefits was all the motivation Tyler Hoffman needed to launch OnPoint Employee Benefits.

“Because 80 per cent of businesses are unknowingly overspending on employee benefits, I saw an opportunity to fix this and help them get a better benefit strategy in place,” said Hoffman, who started OnPoint Employee Benefits in 2008.

While traditional brokers generate quotes and sell on price, OnPoint Employee Benefits takes a consultative approach.

“We design the benefits plan based on the needs of the organizations and leverage digital platforms to bring costs down long-term,” he explained. “We also negotiate loyalty rebates for our clients, which further keeps costs down. Our approach focuses on benefits, wellness and productivity.”

Hoffman carries that philosophy into his own life, and that of his clients as well.

“Quality of life is everything,” he emphasized. “We invest two per cent of our profits into community programs every year.”

When starting a new business, Hoffman underlines the importance of never underestimating the power of your peer group.

“Always work on improving the quality of the connections and relationships you have.”
