Juan de Fuca Soccer’s Tracy Cornforth was honoured recently with the Lower Island Soccer Association’s coach of the year award.

Coach of the under-12 and under-14 girls silver level teams this season, Cornforth was characterized as an enthusiastic leader who is anxious to learn.

“Her teams always have full rosters because the kids like being around the coach,” said Andrew Latham, head coach for Lower Island Soccer. “Tracy is the type of coach who always shows up for coaching courses so that she can provide the best environment for the players. This says much more about the coach than winning games.”

He added that coaches like Cornforth have a “huge positive impact” on their players and are invaluable to the organization.
