After two games on the road, the league-leading Victoria Shamrocks return home to The Q Centre tonight (Friday, June 16) to host the New Westminster Salmonbellies at 7:30 p.m. On Sunday, June 18 the ‘Rocks head up Island to take on the Nanaimo Timbermen, before returning to The Q Centre next Friday to welcome the Maple Ridge Burrards at 7:30 p.m.
Following a roadtrip to Coquitlam, the Junior Shamrocks host the Langley Thunder on Saturday, June 24 at 5 p.m. at The Q Centre.
For Westshore Div. 1 cricket play, head to the Metchosin municipal grounds Saturday to catch the local team in action against Cowichan. Start time is noon.
In Div. 2 midweek play, Tuesday, June 20 takes Metchosin 2 into town to take on Ross Bay at 6 p.m. at Windsor Park.
Head to the Juan de Fuca diamonds next Saturday, June 24, when the youngest baseball fans take to the field for a fun, one-day tournament for all of Triangle Baseball’s t-ball kids.
Coming up this Saturday, June 17 at Western Speedway, the Keg Late Models battle it out for the Rick O’dell Memorial Trophy, while the stock cars and mini-stocks take to the track for Round 4 of their respective series. The Old Timers Racing Association and dwarf cars bring Round 3 to the track.

Turning to golf, registration has now opened for the sixth annual Bear Mountain Men’s Amateur golf tournament, July 8 and 9. The fee for non-members is $225, or $100 for members, and includes a practice round July 7 on the Valley Course, and one round each on the Mountain and Valley courses, power cart and range balls, a meal after both rounds, gifts and prizes. The following weekend, join Cool Aid at the Bear Mountain Valley Course for the Legacy Golf Tournament, a benefit for Victoria Cool Aid Society, teeing off at 1:30 p.m. July 14.
