Find out whether you have what it takes to play rugby at an event geared for the whole family.

Westshore Rugby is hosting two events to give people of all ages the opportunity to check out the sport and register for the upcoming season.

Clay Panga, executive director of Westshore Rugby, said the previous session in July was a great success. Two more family sessions have been added, with one this evening (Sept. 1) from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on the lower fields at West Shore Parks and Recreation, 1767 Island Hwy. in Colwood.

The registration sessions are open to players from the age of five through adulthood, open to people of all ages.

“You can run around on the field with members of Team Canada and find out if the game appeals to you,” Panga said.

There will be an inflatable field and water slide on hand for the kids, food trucks and a barbecue with rugby gear available for purchase.

Participants can also pick up free tickets to Westshore Rugby’s home opener on Sept. 9 against the UVIC Vikes.
