Chilliwack Chiefs alum Luke Esposito is turning pro, signing an amateur tryout deal with the American Hockey League’s Grand Rapids Griffins.

The Griffins are an affilate of the National Hockey League’s Detroit Red Wings and had another ex-Chief join them last week when Dennis Cholowski put his name to a three-year entry level contract with the Wings.

Esposito just wrapped up a four year career at Harvard. The Connecticut native played 131 games for the Crimson, leaving with 31 goals and 89 points.

He collected 16 goals, including five game winners, and 36 points this season as a senior and led Harvard in +/- at +31.

Grand Rapids has three games remaining starting tonight with a home date versus the Charlotte Checkers. See griffinshockey.com.
