The inaugural Tenpin Bowling Awards were handed out by the Southern Vancouver Island Tenpin Bowling Association to bowlers of Langford Lanes.

Winners were: Robin Schuy (Male High Scratch Series - 738), left, Karen Vantreight (Female Most Improved Bowler - plus 28 pins), Jessica Holley (Female High Average - 180), Emmitt Bell (Male Most Improved Bowler – plus 20 pins), Karla Swagar (Female High Scratch Series – 656) and Maria Madsen (Female High Scratch Game – 256),  John Durika (Male High Scratch Game – a perfect 300) and Bill Cooper (Male High Average – 214).

To qualify, bowlers had to be bowling on a sanctioned league and a member of the Southern Vancouver Island Tenpin Bowling Association. The association is a chartered member of the Canadian Tenpin Federation.

Last season there were about 500 sanctioned bowlers at Langford Lanes.

Although half of the leagues are sanctioned at Langford Lanes for this season, the South Island association anticipates presenting the same awards to qualifiers of this season’s  roughly 250 sanctioned bowlers.
