Starting Monday, May 15, Capital Regional District crews will begin work replacing the water main along Metchosin Road between Happy Valley Road and Bilston Creek in Metchosin.

The project will take about eight weeks to complete and during that time, the CRD warns that construction noise and temporary traffic delays are expected during regular working hours. Traffic control personnel will be onsite to assist traffic through the construction zone.

Road users should be aware of uneven pavement and road cuts. During this time, residents are asked to not park on either side of the road to allow work to proceed.

Homes and businesses in the area could be supplied water by a temporary blue line, which may cross driveways, and crews ask that residents use caution when walking or driving over these lines.

Residents will be notified in advance of any scheduled water shutdowns, but temporary shutdowns may occur without warning.

Anyone with questions is asked to call Robert Binks at 250-474-9682.
