Langford sees spike in thefts from vehicles

Police remind motorists to remove valuable items and lock vehicles

The West Shore RCMP is urging motorists not to leave valuable items in vehicles after a recent spike in thefts.

On Monday the local detachment received seven reports of thefts from vehicles and four were reported on Tuesday. But as Const. Alex Berube noted, those are only the ones police have been notified of.

Most of the thefts occurred in the Langford area and Berube noted this type of crime is usual committed by the same perpetrator or group of perpetrators.
