Injured boater rescued off Sheringham Point

Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Station Sooke respond to call

The Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Station Sooke responded to a boater who suffered a head injury aboard a 27-foot vessel yesterday afternoon, off Sheringham Point, west of Sooke.

The vessel was making its way towards Sooke.

A coast guard rescue specialist assessed the man, who was taken to the Sooke boat launch and transferred to ambulance.

Search and rescue crews secured the vessel and assisted the B.C. Ambulance Service with transport.
