Drug-related charges for Victoria man

Was up on charges in Surrey, now Victoria charges to be added

A Victoria man wanted by Surrey RCMP on possible drug-related charges was picked up with a backpack full of GHB and methamphetamine by VicPD last Thursday.

Around 11:30 p.m., as the man got out of a taxi at the Travelers Inn, 1850 Douglas St., officers identified him.

The man tried to hide his backpack and rushed back to his hotel room, but police arrested him without incident.

In addition to drug charges in Surrey, the 36-year-old man will face charges for the possession of four litres of GHB and methamphetamine.
