Colwood is the bloomingest community in Greater Victoria for the fourth consecutive year.

Residents across the region counted a stunning 25,864,976,064 blooms for 42nd annual Flower Count.

Colwood had 64,410,368 while the City of Victoria in second had 30,282,840 and Cordova Bay Elementary School counted 23,418,480 blooms.

The Flower Count is an annual light-hearted promotion sponsored and organized by the Butchart Gardens and Tourism Victoria.

The goal is to bolster community pride and increase awareness of Greater Victoria as an attractive shoulder-season tourism destination. It brings national and international attention to the fact that Victoria has the mildest climate in Canada, often enjoying spring temperatures of 10° to 15° Celsius.
