Suspects fled from Langford stabbing

An altercation at a Langford home Saturday led to a 24-year-old Sooke man being stabbed and sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A fight took place outside a home in Ayton Place Dec. 29 after two masked suspects forced their way inside a large shed beside the residence that had been converted to a recreational area, said West Shore RCMP.

Seven young men were gathered there and when the suspects went into the shed they demanded the men give up  money and cell phones. The men refused and a fight broke out.

The men chased the suspects out of the yard but in the process one suspect drew a knife and stabbed one of the young men in the armpit.

The suspects were gone by the time West Shore RCMP arrived. Police brought in the Victoria Police Dog Section to search for suspects who were not located. Police did find a pellet pistol resembling a black handgun.

Police believe the crime was targeted.

West Shore RCMP Major Crime unit is investigating the incident and ask anyone with information to call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.
