Firearms stolen in house break in

A break and enter in Langford on Tuesday, Dec. 4 resulted in the theft of a gun safe containing two long guns and a handgun.

The break in took place on the 2500 block of Rainville Road sometime between 8 and 9:30 a.m. The thieves took a five-foot high safe, containing the guns, along with a rare coin collection and some cash.

West Shore RCMP are investigating the crime and are asking anyone with information on it to call the detachment at 250-474-2264 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

"This is a significant theft involving firearms," Acting Sgt. Kathy Rochlitz said. "We are asking the public to contact us if they have information that will assisst us in locating the firearms, the stolen property and solving this crime."
