Metchosin’s own Jesse Roper rocked the stage this morning, kicking off Canada Day celebrations for the roughly 300 community members in attendance at Westshore Town Centre in Langford.

Roper, barefoot with his coffee cup in hand, joked he doesn’t normally do shows that early in the day and asked the audience to shout out any requests, which he accommodated in his hour-long set.

While not his typical venue, Roper noted it was his first time playing in a mall, the audience loved the personal feel of the acoustic performance.
