Kick off your Sunday shoes for Canadian College of Performing Arts performance of Footloose

Canadian College of Performing Arts take on Footloose combines the classic characters with modern pop anthems

Reminisce and cut loose with a modern take on Footloose performed by soon-to-be graduates from the Canadian College of Performing Arts, April 27 and 28.

This take on Footloose combines the classic characters with modern pop anthems to help move the story forward.

“At the heart of this pop-infused musical are characters that we ultimately care about as they come to terms with important losses in their life,” director Darold Roles said.

The audience will relate to the story’s themes and be brought back to an age of innocence, he added.

Roles promises a large-scale production that will show off “the hottest triple-threat talent in Canada.”

CCPA students come from all across Canada to develop and hone their acting, singing and dancing skills. For many of the performers, Footloose will be their last show with the college before launching their careers.

Footloose is on April 27 and 28 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the McPherson Playhouse.

Tickets range from $15 (for students) to $35.
