Westhills Stadium to get more seating

A Vancouver-based company will add 1,176 seats, along with some equipment storage space, for the price tag of $346,750.

Langford city council passed a motion Monday to accept a bid from Centaur Products Inc. to install additional seating at Westhills Stadium.

The Vancouver-based company will add 1,176 seats, along with some equipment storage space, for the price tag of $346,750. The new seating, which will boost capacity to about 2,400, will be on the Langford Parkway side of the stadium and incorporate existing aluminum seating.

Half of the cost will be covered by a federal grant and the remainder by Langford. The money is included in the city's approved 2013 budget.
