The Juan de Fuca Arts and Crafts Guild presents Spring into Summer, a craft sale and market happening this Saturday (April 8) from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Esquimalt United Church.

All items are locally made and vendors will have a variety of artisan products including aromatherapy, chocolate, jewelry, pottery, quilts and much more. The Rainbow Kitchen is providing the concession.

The event is being held in the Wheeley Hall and lounge of the church at 500 Admirals Rd. The entrance is on Lyall Street near Constance Avenue. Admission is free and the building is wheelchair and stroller friendly. For more information contact jdfguild@gmail.com or call 250-661-6550.

Metchosin shows off its crafty side

The Metchosin Spring Fling Arts and Craft Fair is also on docket for this weekend.

Taking place this Saturday and Sunday (April 8 and 9) from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Metchosin Community Hall, 4401 William Head Rd., this annual event hosts local crafters who pride themselves on creating quality, affordable products ranging from fudge and original art etchings to wooden garden boxes and children’s products.

If all of this shopping leaves you feeling peckish, the Galloping Goose Sausage Company or MyChosen Pizza will have food kiosks on site to satisfy that hunger.

And not to be outdone, Consider the Lilies, the annual fibre arts show, finishes its run this weekend at the old St. Mary’s Anglican Church, 4354 Metchosin Rd. The show is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and from noon until 4 p.m. on the final Sunday (April 9).
