West Shore Parks and Recreation offers preschool programs with a focus on location and flexibility.

“What’s unique about our preschool is the amazing grounds and facilities we have here,” said Katherine Salmons, who works in the arts and culture programs at West Shore Parks and Recreation. “We have a Garry oak meadow behind the library, walking trails and forested areas, an arena and two playgrounds. It’s pretty unique within the West Shore and the Greater Victoria area.”

Families can pick which days of the week they want to have their child participate, as well as the number of days. “That provides a lot of flexibility in terms of working around parents’ schedules,” Salmons noted.

West Shore Parks and Recreation offers Nature Preschool and KinderPrep programs for children from three to five years of age at their main location in Colwood. The KinderPrep program is also available at the Royal Bay Neighbourhood Learning Centre. The programs start the week of Sept. 11 to 15 and run until the end of June. For information on the programs or to register, contact Salmons at 250-474-5825, or email ksalmons@westshorerecreation.ca.
