Outdoor movie at West Shore parks and rec to fund playground equipment

The show will begin at 9:30 p.m. on June 15 on the hill behind the Juan de Fuca library

Movies on Hill is back at West Shore Parks and Recreation.

This year’s show features The Goonies.

“Last year the movie was rated-G, but this year it’s PG for older kids and we want parents to be aware of that,” said Bobbi Neal of West Shore Parks and Recreation.

The show will begin at 9:30 p.m. on June 15 on the hill behind the Juan de Fuca library.

Admission is by donation and money raised will go towards the proposed Rotary Playground.

So far WSPR raised $49,000  to cover the cost of Phase 1 with a ground breaking in September.

The project still requires $52,000.
