The first nice weekend of weather on the West Shore in what seems like ages drew large crowds to the Luxton Spring Fair.

Sandy West, a long-serving volunteer for the Luxton Fair – one of the longest running events of its kind on Vancouver Island – said it was the busiest its been for the past few years.

“The unbelievable weather we had over the three days really helped,” West noted. “Saturday was definitely the busiest day, but there were good crowds at all the tables every day.”

It’s impossible to keep accurate attendance numbers because there is no admission charge, and some people leave and return throughout the day, she explained. “There’s lots of back and forth and people tend to come and go.”
