Colwood’s Church of the Advent (510 Mount View Avenue) will be hosting the World Day of Prayer at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, bringing together six local churches for a common day of prayer.
The original event, which holds the motto “Informed prayer and prayerful action,” was started by women in Canada and the U.S.A. in 1922. The ecumenical event is now observed in 170 countries.
The actual Day of
Prayer is March 6 but this event is on the weekend morning so those who work and those who can’t drive at night can all attend.
