Climb aboard the trucks at the speedway Saturday

Touch-a-Truck a great opportunity to see big vehicles up close

Motor out to Western Speedway on Saturday (Aug. 9) for a chance to touch, climb on and explore trucks and machinery of all kinds.

Touch-A-Truck is a fundraiser for the Southern Vancouver Island Family Child Care Association, an organization that promotes high quality family child care.

Construction machinery, tow trucks, emergency vehicles and even helicopters will be on site for exploring and kids can meet the drivers and operators. Race cars will also be on display, and attendees can enter to win a helicopter ride or a one-hour helicopter lesson.

The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is $10 for families up to four and $15 for families with five or more members.
