Art from Belmont secondary students will be on display this weekend at Royal Roads University, providing a chance to see some young masters learning their brushstrokes.

Belmont secondary Grade 10 student Mariah Kivari will be displaying her self portrait, titled Mitsumi. The portrait is made entirely from computer and electronic components and is meant to reflect how technology is changing the younger generations. She took a donated computer apart herself and used a lens for her eyes and cords for the hair.

Kivari and other Belmont art students have their works on display at Royal Roads University's Quarterdeck Lounge over the weekend, on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The show has been made possible by the support of community partners, especially the Legion, said teacher Victoria Kahn.
