If you’re looking to reduce your yard work or improve your putting skills, SYNlawn has solutions for you.

Kris Mickelson, owner of SYNlawn Vancouver Island, which offers an assortment of artificial lawn, playground and landscaping options, said more people on the Island are using his products for a variety of reasons.

“One of the main reasons is that we offer the greenest, most environmentally friendly product on the market,” Mickelson noted. “We’re the largest manufacturer and installer of synthetic landscape grass in North America, and we’ve perfected the product.”

Other reasons that make SYNlawn a smart choice is that it cuts residential water use in half in some cases, and reduces carbon emissions by eliminating the need for motorized lawn maintenance equipment.

“You can spend more time enjoying your yard and much less maintaining it,” Mickelson explained.

During the company’s four years in operation on Vancouver Island, Mickelson has seen an increase in the number of homes that include putting greens in their purchase, especially on the West Shore.

“Word of mouth has helped in that regard,” he said. “We also have more and more major construction companies that build residential and commercial properties using our products because of how green and durable they are.”

Trademarked innovations such as HeatBlock Technology provides the coolest synthetic turf, and Celceram secondary backing made from recycled materials enhance the products’ environmentally-friendly profile, Mickelson said. SYNlawn also treats its products with Zeolite, which removes substances that may be harmful to pets. The company’s professionals install all of their products, and can provide detailed specifications for landscape architects and designers as well.

Utilizing post manufacturing waste, including coal ash to add strength and dimensional stability, is another way the company makes the extra effort to go green, he explained. Add to that the projected life cycle of 15 years and the fact that the products are 100 per cent recyclable and you can see why more people are moving to SYNlawn, Mickelson said.

“We offer a large variety of product and price options and choices for our clients,” he said. They will also install anywhere on Vancouver Island, Mickelson noted, citing an installation project later this month in Gold River as an example.
